Baby Quilt

My wonderful neighbors are pregnant with their first child so of course a baby quilt must be made. I came up with the design and picked out most of the fabrics. But it was my daughter Liza who did most of the sewing. She is home from college for the summer and has expressed an interest in sewing and quilting. She did a great job and we collaborated on picking the sashing fabric. I'm very pleased with the results and am planning on making a pattern of the quilt. It is called Building Blocks. It hasn't been quilted yet and will probably go to the baby shower on Sunday as just a top, but I will definitely get it quilted before the baby is due in August. building%20blocks.jpg

Karen's Quilt

Northwest Quilter's Guild had their annual show a few weekends ago. It was a nice show and one of my friends entered a quilt that I had quilted for her. We were thrilled to learn that her quilt, called Nevas, won 1st place in the Partners category. And it also won me a 3rd place ribbon for Machine Quilting. Very exciting! Here are a few pictures. karen-day-quilt%28small%29.jpg Karen%20Day%20quilt%2C%2007%20-%204.jpg
