The Polka Dot Debutante

The hike on the Appalachian Trail was wonderful and Vivienne and I had a great adventure. We walked 83 miles of the trail, doing all of Georgia and a few miles into North Carolina. It was hard, it was fun, it was stunningly beautiful at times and so peaceful in the woods. I can't wait to go back next year and do the next section. We met great people who renewed my faith in humanity. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trail.

On Sunday I went on a bus trip to the Tacoma Art Museum to see the Gee's Bend Quilts. This exhibit is called Architecture of the Quilt and is the second big museum exhibit of Gee's Bend quilts. The Tacoma Art Museum did a nice job with the quilts; we just weren't allowed to take any photographs. The exhibit is there through December 9th and I would highly recomment making the trip up to see it.

The weather turned out to be decent so I took a walk to see the Glass Bridge. Every time I see it, I am still awed. Amazing, beautiful, magnifique!
The bus trip was arranged by LuAnn at Fibers In Motion and she did a great job. Wonderful lunches and snacks and wine on the way home. Can't beat it.

I just got back from teaching at Ocean Waves Quilt Camp. It's put on by Jane who owns Jane's Fabric Patch in Tillamook. I had a wonderful time. Great students, a terrific group of teachers and a beautiful setting. And good food too. What else could one ask for?! Thought you might like to see some pictures. Beautiful Twin Rocks.
