New Building Blocks

I designed this quilt for a friend who was having her first baby. Then I decided it would make a great class. Terrific idea except for the fact that I didn't have a sample anymore! So I've been working on a new one. I picked the border fabric first. Got it from this great website called superbuzzy that has all Japanese imported fabrics. They are a little more expensive but good for that something special. New%20Building%20Blocks%2C%2011%3A07%20-%201.jpg New%20Building%20Blocks%2C%2011%3A07%20-%202.jpg

Finishing Old Projects

Well it's getting towards the end of another year and that's when I always get the urge to finish up old projects. There are some that I can let go and decide not to ever finish but there are several that are worthy of actually finishing. Here is one of those worthy projects. It'a a Maggi Walker design that I started back in 1998. I was in charge of the block of the month program for this quilt when I worked at ThimbleCreek in Walnut Creek, CA. I moved right before the last block was done and so the whole thing went into a box not to be seen for a long time. Finally done. Yeah!!! Chicken%20quilt%20-%201.jpg Chicken%20quilt%20-%202.jpg

Another UFO

Here is another top that I'm going to finish. Vivienne is coming over today and we are going to brainstorm border ideas. I don't want to put a plain border on it. I think it needs something more substantial. If we come up with any decent ideas, I'll post a picture showing what we come up with. Rt.jpg

Border Possibility

Here is the border idea for the Route 66 quilt. I'm living with it for a few days before sewing to see if I REALLY like it. Any thoughts? Route%20quilt.jpg
