Felted Bag

I’m down in California visiting friends and am missing my knitting group tomorrow. In their honor, I’m posting my latest knitting project. Actually, make that the latest knitting project that is finished. I’ve been diligently working on my socks, which I’m loving, but I needed something that was a bit more immediately rewarding. So I started a felted bag. I just love making things to be felted. You knit on big needles with fat yarn and it works up so fast. This bag is about 8″tall and 10″ wide after felting and it took me about a week to knit.

I love the color and I got the yarn at that great yarn yard sale that happens periodically over off Hawthorne. The pattern is called “Sophie” and it’s by Julie Anderson for Black Sheep Bags.

Hey Lee, I love the twisted handles. We had a great knitting group today, lots of good fun, and we’re going to meet at my house next Thursday to make Vivbags. Know you’ll want to come.
Have too much fun down in my old stomping ground!!!

I like the was this felted up, especially the handles. When I saw it unfelted, I wondered how the handles would come out. Looks good.
