At the beginning of the summer I fell in love with the “Socialite Dress” pattern by Anna Marie Horner.
It’s taken me the whole summer to choose a fabric to use for the dress. I bought several pieces but then they just didn’t seem right when I got them home. I feel so confident choosing fabrics for quilts but not so much when it comes to clothes. So one day I went shopping with my friends Anne and Tamara and they helped me decide. We unwrapped several different bolts of fabric and held them up like a dress to get an idea of how they would look. I ended up buying a print from theĀ Cloe’s Imagination collection by Tina Givens from Free Spirit Fabrics. I really like how the dress turned out. I obviously need to find a better belt but this was all I had at the moment. Thank you Anne and Tamara!

Beautiful! Can’t wait to see the whole thing….
I love this pattern too. I made it earlier in the summer from a lime green cotton with a silver foil pinstripe. I may try it again in something more fall inspired. Did you do the pockets? I would love to see a full photo.
I did do the pockets cause I love pockets. I would post a full photo but didn’t get a good one. Liza is making the dress from wool and is planning on wearing it as a jumper this winter in Boston. I could see it with a white button down….
