I went on a wonderful hike yesterday with my friend Jewel. We drove out to Trout Lake and into the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. We did a hike called the Indian Heaven Loop and it was indeed heavenly. The loop was 6.7 miles long and took us past 4 lakes and numerous marshes. We were also rewarded with amazing views of Mt. Adams along with glimpses of Mt. Ranier. It was a beautiful day; sunny but not too hot. There were still some wild flowers and the huckleberries are out although we didn’t find any.
Here is Mt. Adams
This is one of the meadows we passed through
Here is a view of Clear Lake. I love the reflections of the clouds in the water.
These last two pictures are just textures. Great lichen on an old stump and then one of those dead, creepy trees that make me think of Halloween.
