I just got back from a wonderful quilt retreat. The retreat was at the Silver Falls Conference Center in Silver Falls State Park. Both the sleeping cabin and the work space were very nice; roomy and comfortable. We even had beautiful weather the whole time, a treat this time of year. This is the meadow in front of the dining hall and our sleeping cabin.
With three full days of sewing, everyone got a lot done. Here are just a few of the projects.
Polka dot strips for a border:
Christmas wall hanging with Deb looking pretty pleased with herself!
Melia’s scrap quilt. She came with the blocks finished and got them all sewn together. I can’t remember the name of the pattern but I just love it.
This is Vicki’s version of Vivienne’s Oasis pattern.
Viv and I managed to get two hikes in while we were there. It was cold and clear and the afternoon light up on the ridge was beautiful.
This group of women have had a retreat here for seven years. I was so glad to be invited to join them. There is nothing like being with a community of women where you feel accepted and able to just be yourself. There is camaraderie, stories, and lots of laughter. Many thanks to Joyce, Lisa, Melia, Peggy, Deborah, Vicki, Nancy, Sunny, Dawn, Colleen and Vivienne. I can’t wait to do it again!
