I haven’t posted many pictures of things I’ve made lately because all the things I’ve been working on were Christmas presents for people who read this blog! Christmas has passed so now I can show you some of the stuff I’ve made.
I made Rick a matching hat and scarf, both out of the wonderful Malabrigo worsted yarn. I used the “Turn a Square” hat pattern by Jared Flood and the “Cable Me Warm” scarf pattern by Valerie White Designs.
I also made these wristlets for Liza. They are from a pattern called “Mrs. Beeton” by Brenda Dayne that is on Knitty.com. I used Debbie Bliss Cashmerino dk weight along with Panda Silk by Crystal Palace. I learned several new skills while I was making them: a beaded cast on, a cable cast on, a three needle bind off, and a picot bind off. Liza really liked them and I’m almost tempted to make a pair for myself, almost!
I also made this sweater for little Ingrid who lives across the street. She turned two this year and is so adorable. I love making stuff for her, it’s just too much fun. The pattern is called “Helena” and is also from Knitty.com. I used some hand dyed yarn from Happy Hands Hand Dyed Yarn that I bought at the Sock Summit. This was my first successful attempt with a lace pattern. I had to put stitch markers between every repeat but I got it to work. Yeah!
I’m still working on some projects that didn’t get finished for Christmas. My goal is by the end of January, everything will be caught up.
