Kristy’s Rug

Kristy made me a new rug for Christmas. She and her quilt group in California are all making these woven rugs. One of the husbands makes the frames to weave them on. Kristy says it takes about 14 yards of fabric to weave one this size. (about 2′ x 3′)

She made mine out of mostly solid fabrics, it’s almost got an Amish look to it. We put it right in front of the sink in the kitchen. It looks terrific with those crocheted bottle cap hot pads that I collect.

But the funniest thing is our cat Jasper’s reaction. He thinks Kristy made it just for him. It is his new throne and he sure looks regal, don’t ya think?!
