Finally, things are happening with the kitchen. Tuesday and Wednesday saw the concrete guys here all day, digging out where the new corner of the kitchen will be and then pouring the footing. I was so excited. On Thursday a different team came over and loaded up the garage with tools and equipment. And on Friday they came and excavated everything out of the kitchen.
The window in the above picture is where the sink used to be. The little window on the left is coming out and will eventually be added to the window facing the street. That whole corner with the little window is coming out.
They took out the cabinets, the appliances, the sink, the built ins, and the floor. I was totally amazed at how much they did in one day. Those guys worked hard.
On Monday, I imagine they will start ripping out the outer walls on that corner you see on the upper right next to the window. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather cooperates.
